Catechism Classes

In 7th and 8th grade Catechism classes, we explore the meaning of the five great symbols of the Christian faith: 10 Commandments, Apostles’ Creed, Lord’s Prayer, Holy Baptism, and Holy Communion, and how they apply to each individual life.

7th and 8th graders also take part in a week long Confirmation Camp; at one of the ELCA camps as they prepare to take for themselves the vows of Christian living.

Catechism Classes culminate in the RITE OF AFFIRMATION OF BAPTISMAL VOWS as each young person accepts for themselves the promises that their parents made for them at Holy Baptism.

Do you intend to live among God’s faithful people, to hear God’s Word and share in God’s supper,
to proclaim the good news of God in Christ through Word and deed, to serve all people , following the example of our Lord Jesus, and to strive for justice and peace in all the world?

Catechism classes prepare each young person to be able to answer:
I DO AND I ASK GOD TO HELP AND GUIDE ME.

A 2 year mid week class running September through May for 7th & 8th graders to learn the Lutheran expression of the Christian faith
